Using Backups in License Store
License Store keeps important license information: keys, license files, receipts, notes, and attachments. If something goes wrong, that data can be difficult to rebuild from old e-mails or vendor accounts.
That is why License Store creates local backups automatically. They add an extra layer of safety if a license is deleted by mistake, an import does not go as expected, or you need to recover data after a problem with your library.
Backups are separate from iCloud sync. If you use iCloud, the system can keep your library available across your Macs. Local backups give you copies on the Mac that you can restore when needed.

Automatic Backups
License Store creates backups in the background as your library is saved. You do not need to start each backup manually.
You can manage backup settings in License Store → Settings... → Backups.
Turn Automatic Backups Off
If you prefer to manage backups yourself, you can turn automatic backups off in the Backups settings.
License Store asks for confirmation before turning them off. Existing backups are not deleted, and manual backups remain available.
Large Attachments
Attachments can make backups much larger, especially if you store PDFs, archives, or other big files with your licenses.
By default, License Store skips attachments larger than 10 MB when creating new backups.
Those attachments remain in your library. They are only skipped in newly created backups unless you turn on Include Large Attachments in Backups.

This keeps backups smaller and faster. If you want backups to include every attached file, turn on the large attachment option.
Restore a Backup
Open the Backups settings to see available backups and restore entries from an older backup.
When you restore a backup, License Store does not overwrite entries that already exist in your current library. It adds entries from the backup only when they are not already present.

This is useful when you need to recover a deleted license without replacing the rest of your library.
