Exporting and Moving Your License Library
We believe your license data should not be trapped in one app.
License Store can export entries in several formats, depending on whether you want a spreadsheet-friendly file, structured data for another tool, or a full License Store transfer.

Export One Entry
Select an app and click the Share button in the toolbar.
You can export the selected entry as:
License FileCSVJSON
Choose the format based on what you want to do next. The sections below explain when each format makes sense.
Export Several Entries
Select more than one app in the sidebar.
License Store shows a multi-selection export view, where you can export the selected entries together.

This is useful when you want to move several licenses at once, make a small report, or create a file containing only a specific group of apps.
CSV
Use CSV when you want a table that opens easily in spreadsheet apps.
CSV works well for basic license fields such as app name, license key, e-mail, website, download link, expiration date, and notes.
JSON
Use JSON when you want structured data for scripts, custom tools, or another app.
Like CSV, JSON export is meant for key-based license information. It is useful when you want the data in a format that is easier for software to read.
License File
Use License File (.ls) when you want the best transfer format for License Store itself.
This is the right choice when you want to:
- keep an additional copy of selected entries
- move entries to another License Store library
- preserve file-based licenses
- keep attachments with the entry
- transfer records without flattening them into a spreadsheet format
To import a .ls file later, open Add App and choose Import License File.
Export vs Backup
Export and backup solve different problems.
Use export when you intentionally want a file containing selected entries.
Use backup when you want restore points for your current License Store library.
If your License Store library is already syncing through iCloud, you usually do not need export just to use the same library on another Mac. If you do not use iCloud sync, or if you want to move selected entries to a different License Store library, .ls export is usually the most direct option.
